Snacks -Mathri मठरी लेयर वाली
Ingredients
All-purpose flour (maida) – 2 cups
Carom seeds (ajwain) – 1/4 tsp
Nigella seeds (kalonji) – 1/4 tsp
Crushed red chili – 1/4 tsp
Salt – to taste
Method
In a bowl, mix all the ingredients. Add water little by little and knead into a stiff dough.
Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll out each portion into thin, even discs. Brush oil over each rolled disc, stack them one on top of the other, and roll them tightly into a log.
Cut the log into 1/2-inch pieces. Roll out each piece lightly (like small pooris).
Heat oil in a pan on low flame. Start frying these pieces on low heat. While frying, the layers will begin to separate. Keep turning them until they turn golden brown.
Serve hot with evening tea and enjoy with your loved ones. 🌸
